Our Marine Corps League-South Coast Detachment is holding its 249th Marine Corps Birthday Ball Celebration on Saturday, November 16th at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa from 5:00PM – 11:00PM. This Ball is a First Class, Elegant Ceremonial Dinner Celebration Steeped in Tradition.  Top Shelf Cocktails with No-Host Bar.  The first course is a Plated Wedged Lettuce, Baby Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Goat Cheese, Pickled Red Onions served with Herb Vinaigrette. Second Course includes Short Ribs Braised for 12-Hour in Natural Beef Reduction AND Pistachio Crusted Mediterranean Sole in a Moroccan Saffron Broth.  For Vegans: Vegetable Wellington – Roasted Vegetables, Boursin Cheese in a Puff Pastry.  Side accompaniments include Vegetable Medley and Wild Mushroom Wine Risotto. Red and White Wine will be on the Table, and the Birthday Cake will be the delicious dessert.

The Program will include the marching on of the colors-presentation of the Birthday Cake, the reading of General Lejeune’s Birthday Message, the playing of the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ Video Message and the cutting of the cake as shared by the Oldest and Youngest Marine present.
